Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) Vice Admiral Akira Saito & US Navy Vice Admiral Karl Thomas continues cooperation with the Philippines, Australia, and the United States of America for FOIP.

Last August 26, to enhance the synergy between the Philippines, Japan, Australia and the United States toward a Free and Open Indo- Pacific (FOIP), JMSDF VADM Saito, the Self-Defense Fleet Commander-In-Chief, flew over the South China Sea together with the Philippine Naval Air Wing Commander, Royal Australian Artillery Chief of Joint Operations, and US Navy Commander of U.S. 7th Fleet Vice Admiral Karl Thomas to inspect the situation in the region.
The group gathered at the AGES Lounge for a briefing led by the crew of the US Navy P-8A Poseidon—an American maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft developed and produced by Boeing Defense, Space & Security, which was derived from the civilian Boeing 737-800.
Ages is honored to have been part of this joint exercise by the four (4) nations.
