The Minister of the French Armed Forces arrived in Manila to enhance the Philippine and France’s ties in the Indo-Pacific last December 2, 2023.
French Minister Sébastien Lecornu visited Manila, Philippines last Saturday, Dec. 2, to engage in a high-level meeting and working lunch with Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilbert Teodoro.
“This visit follows the commitment by Presidents Emmanuel Macron and Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to enhance the strategic partnership between France and the Philippines,” the French Embassy in Manila said Friday, Dec. 1.
The Minister arrived in Manila aboard the French Air and Space Force Airbus A330-200. The A330 of the Air and Space Force will replace the aging A310s and A340s of the 3/60 “Estérel” transport squadron used for logistics missions carrying both personnel and freight for France.
Ages is honored to have hosted the Ambassade de France aux Philippines, Ambassador H.E. Marie Fontanel as well as other members in the Ages lounge where they waited for the arrival of the Minister, who upon arrival went straight to his next appointment while the aircraft continued on to La Tontouta Airport, New Caledonian.
